Moldova's National Anti-corruption Centre (NAC) opened 8 criminal cases in the week covered by its synthesis of 26 October, the centre said, while its Criminal Assets Recovery Agency (CARA) seized six assets worth over 1.5 million lei.

The NAC publishes a synthesis of its work every week. Read beside the synthesis of 19 October, it gives a short series on how the centre's enforcement and prevention output moves from one week to the next. This piece counts what the two releases report. It names no suspect, and no suspect it describes has been convicted.

The 26 October synthesis also reports that CARA deposited over 2.2 million lei into the NAC's treasury accounts and that the centre ran 7 training sessions for 522 people. Its main case was a set of searches in an influence peddling case in which, the NAC said, a man allegedly requested and received EUR 7,500 to cover up a drunk driving case, claiming influence over officials and law enforcement in Ialoveni.
The synthesis a week earlier reported about 30 searches in two cases, including seven criminal investigations into what it called a systemic corruption scheme at the Giurgiulești border inspection post, and said a case against a former judge accused of influence peddling had been sent to court. It also issued 169 integrity records.
On 30 October the centre said its director, Alexandr Pînzari, had joined police, border and customs officials at a law enforcement conference in Orlando, with sessions on money laundering through virtual assets and on seizing and recovering criminal assets. The trip was funded with US Government support, the NAC said.
Weekly enforcement figures feed the rule of law cluster that Moldova must show progress on as an EU candidate. The EU's internal market steps for Moldova are covered in the report on the competitiveness clusters, and the case for clear accession safeguards in the enlargement safeguards opinion.
