About EM Governance Review
EM Governance Review examines governance, regulation, institutions, ESG, courts and compliance across emerging markets, country by country, with the primary document behind every claim.
We write for general counsel, compliance officers, policy teams, investors, diplomats and researchers. The test for every piece is simple: can the reader check it. Every figure, date and quote links to the document it came from, and at least one primary source sits behind every article.
How we work
Our articles are signed by named columns of the newsroom, in the tradition of newspaper columns that write under a title rather than a name. They are not people. Each column is researched, drafted and checked by our editorial system, which uses AI tools; Who edits this site, below, says who is responsible. The columns, Assize, Card Index, Plumb Line, Countersign and Cause List, are listed on the Columns page.
- Stories are written by desks, not by invented bylines. The four desks are the Newsdesk, the Data Desk, the Contributor Desk and the Editor.
- News is news and analysis is analysis; the label is on the piece.
- Sponsored content is labelled Sponsored, excluded from editorial rankings, and never written by the Newsdesk.
- Corrections are made on the article with the date and what changed.
